Introduction to Fashion Designing CourseThe Fashion designing is the most challenging area of work in fashion industry where designing requires creating original designs after studying the changing trends in the market. The various fields of specialization in fashion designing include designing garments, footwear, jewellery and luggage. The fashion designing also encompasses a vast field of studies in design, concept management, design production management, quality control, planning, fabric design, printing, fashion accessory design, fashion merchandising, textile science, colour mixing, and marketing. The main work of fashion designers is to develop new styles and products for clothing apparel and accessories by creating original designs or by adapting fashions to suit local conditions, trends and buyers. The designing task is carried out only after through market survey or research which involves understanding the needs of the client or the market in terms of changing needs and budget. The fashion designing career gives a great opportunity for the exposure of originality and creativity. Eligibility The minimum eligibility criterion for the undergraduate course in this field is 10+2 with 50% marks. The graduates can go for Post Graduate courses in fashion designing. As a part of selection process, some institutes conducts written test, situation test, group discussion and interview. Fashion designers require being artistic, creative as well as posses the ability to translate ideas in sketches. They must have keen sense of colour, visualizing skills and knowledge of market trends.
