Introduction
The financial service sector has seen a great change due to liberalization and globalization market. There is a big scope for the financial services which broadly covers money market operations, merchant banking services, international banking services, portfolio management, lease financing, mergers, acquisitions buy-outs mutual funds, and factoring services. The Chartered financial analysts (CFA) are trained utilize their managerial skills in the core areas of corporate finance, investment management, international finance and financial services. The CFA training is imparted in the fields of corporate finance, investment management and financial services. The corporate finance includes Indian Financial System, Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Financial Management, Advanceed Financial Management, and International Management. The investment management includes Economics, Quantitative Techniques, Economic Legislations for the Securities Industry and Security Evaluation Techniques. The financial services include Leasing, Hire Purchasing, Project Planning, Issue Management, Credit Rating, and Venture Capital.
Eligibility
The minimum qualification required for admission to CFA is a graduation in any discipline. The final level students of CA, CWA, CS and other PG and CAs, CWAs, Company Secretaries and other Postgraduates of any discipline are also eligible for admission to CFA courses.
The candidate willing for a career in CFA must have good numerical ability with a logical approach for accurate interpretation.
Job Scope and Career Options
There are lot of job scope and openings available to CFA degree holders in Banking, Insurance, Corporate Sectors and Finance, and Leasing Companies. The other organizations include Railways, Reserve Bank of India and Financial Institutions like ICICI, IDBI, IFCI and UTI.
