About Indian School of Mines (ISM)
The Indian School of Mines was established in Dhanbad in 1926 with the financial support from the then Indo British Government.
It acquired University status under UGC act 1956. Now, the school is under the direct control of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. It has the similar status like IITs and IIMs and many other Apex Institutions of the country.
The training programmes of the school are related to mining and allied science disciplines.
